Austin Durrer
Over his 20 years working in the federal government and in national politics, Austin has served as a Chief of Staff for multiple Congressmembers on Capitol Hill, in the Obama Administration, and as campaign manager for a major statewide campaign. Through this experience, Austin has developed exceptional relationships, knowledge, political expertise and the ability to develop and communicate complex issues designed to advance client interests at the federal, state and local levels.
Austin is an expert on the appropriations process, having served as the senior advisor to Members on the Appropriations Committee, including the powerful Defense Subcommittee. He worked closely for many years with the New Dem Coalition, the Blue Dog Coalition, and across the aisle to advance legislation. He served as a Chief of Staff in the U.S. Department of Commerce under President Obama and Secretary Pritzker, running the department’s big data strategy. And he led a nearly $40 million campaign for governor in Florida.
Austin splits his time between Washington D.C. and the Eastern Shore of Maryland, where he raises his daughter Campbell. In his spare time, he trains for triathlons, is an outdoorsman, an avid reader of nonfiction, and pulls for his alma mater, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
